We will not have a formal host hotel since the activities are being held at the Fairgrounds (i.e., not in a hotel). Travel sites such as Travelocity.com conveniently search for you and offer the best deals. Yelp will show you Ventura's many independent old fashioned "motor court" motels dating from the 50s that likely won't appear on the aforementioned sites, and with its user reviews, will tell it like it is.
